This year, our chapter meetings focus on Communication Skills for Career Advancement. The first session, titled Accelerate Your Career Growth, began with a discussion on the differences between traditional career development paths and multi-faceted approaches. Participants reflected on their career growth potential using the CMO model (Competence, Motivation, and Opportunity).

Contrary to common misconceptions, the key skills required for career advancement are primarily developed through hands-on job experiences (70%), learning from interactions with others (20%), and formal education or training (10%). The meeting concluded with participants sharing their individual action items.

Looking forward to deeper discussions in our upcoming in-person meetings, next month’s session will explore communication styles.

6월 5일 목요일, communication skills for career advancement를 주제로 진행될 올해 챕터 미팅의 첫 세션이 열렸습니다. Accelerate Your Career Growth라는 제목으로 전통적인 커리어 발전 모델과 현대적인 의미의 커리어 발전 형태의 차이에 대해 알아보고, CMO (competence, motivation, and opportunity) 모델을 이용해 참석자 각자의 커리어 발전 기회에 대해 생각해보는 기회를 가졌습니다. 

흔히 생각하는 것과 달리 실제 커리어 발전에 필요한 다양한 스킬은 대부분 현재 하고 있는 일을 통해 배우고 (70%), 다른 사람들과의 소통을 통해 배우며 (20%), 교육과 훈련을 통해 배우는 부분은 10% 정도입니다. 모임은 각자의 action item을 나누는 것으로 마무리 되었습니다.

오프라인 모임을 통해 더 심도있는 이야기를 나눌 기회를 기대하며, 다음 달 모임은 커뮤니케이션 스타일에 대해 이야기를 나누겠습니다.
