KWiSE organized 2010 WISE networking dinner in support of NIS-WIST.
This was held on Aug 12, Seattle, WA in Commons building of the famous “Microsoft”. Dr. Jung Jaeyeon at Intel Lab-Seattle and Dr. Lee Bongshin at Microsoft organized the meeting from assigning the conference room to ordering food. The meeting was begun with delicious Thai food at 7PM. After the dinner each members introduced themselves. The KWiSE 5th year anniversary meeting was held at The Scripps Research Institute in San Diego on December 6, 2009. This year’s meeting was under the theme of “How to prepare for an academic position in Korea”. The meeting began at 9:30 with a registration and breakfast. The official program started at 10:00 with the welcoming remark from the president of San Diego chapter, Dr. Sanghee Yoo, followed by a brief progress report on the organization’s ongoing state of affairs, such as the upcoming president election, by the founder/president of KWiSE, Dr. Gye Won Han.

We gathered on November 13, 2009 for networking dinner with a career development talk. We had 15 attendants including faculty, postdoctoral researchers and graduate students. We had a speaker, Professor Hoon Joo Lee, from Textile at NCSU. She gave us a talk about her experiences in preparing interviews, writing research projects, and developing networking techniques.

The KWiSE, with the Korea-U.S. Science Cooperation Center (KUSCO), hosted the KWiSE-3rd Annual West Coast Conference on June 27th, 2009 at The Scripps Research Institute located in San Diego. The registration and breakfast started around 9 AM and the morning session was followed by the presentation by Ms. Diane West from the 2Connect, Inc. The 3rd east coast meeting 2009: KWiSE career forum was held successfully on June 27th, Saturday afternoon. 30 Korean women scientists in the east coast, mostly from the DC and Maryland/Virginia area, gathered in Han Gang restaurant in Virginia, for this meeting. The 4th year Anniversary meeting for KWiSE was held on November 15th, 2008. The meeting was moderated by Dr. Sanghee Yoo, next year's KWiSE San Diego chapter president-to-be.
Dr. Yoo provided the welcoming address and gave a brief overview of what was to be expected from the meeting, before introducing Dr. Gye Won Han, current president of KWiSE. Dr. Han then narrated the history of KWiSE and the increased presence of the group both in Korea and the United States.
